Vicryl Rapide Suture, composed of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide copolymer, is a synthetic absorbable suture intended to model the performance of collagen suture (surgical bowel) with less tissue reaction. It is indicated for use only in the superficial soft tissue approximation of skin and mucous membranes, with wound support of 7-10 days.
VICRYL® Plus Coated Antibacterial Sutures (Polyglactin 910) provide smooth tissue passage, exceptional handling, knot security, 2-4 weeks of tissue support and have been shown in vitro to inhibit the colonization of suture, a known risk factor for surgical site infection ( SSI).
The DERMABOND ® PRINEO ® Skin Closure System consists of a liquid topical skin adhesive and a self-adhesive mesh that provides temporary skin edge alignment until the adhesive is applied. In a clinical study, esthetics were better with the DERMABOND PRINEO system than with the conventional suture in skin closure.
